Good Value, Great PC, June 30, 2012 By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: ASUS N73SM-DS72 17.3-Inch Laptop (Silver Aluminum) (Personal Computers) I did a lot of research before purchasing a notebook and was told that Asus was a reliable brand and great value for the money. I've had this notebook for two weeks now and I couldn't agree more! It runs very quiet with no problems at all with over heating (I've left it sitting on the bed and couch where there was very little ventilation and it handled it fine). For a 17.3" screen, it's lightweight, holds battery life well (I'd say close to 3 hours or more when fully charged) and is very portable. This mini entertainment center boasts excellent sound (with volume that goes very loud if needed) and stunning graphics--the picture quality is vibrant and gorgeous!
One of my main concerns was the keyboard and touchpad area, which I needed to be very user friendly since I do a lot of word processing. The touchpad on this model is a generous size, but not so big that your fingers are accidentally touching it while your typing--in my opinion it's just right. If you are used to... Read more

deceiving, June 19, 2012 This review is from: ASUS N73SM-DS72 17.3-Inch Laptop (Silver Aluminum) (Personal Computers) I will never buy an ASUS product again! I bought a 1500 USD N71JQ laptop, intel i7, Nvidia graphics etc the top end. After 24 months and 2 weeks the DC plug went almost on fire which was scary, smoke out of the VGA pin. Contacted ASUS support and they do not want to take it into the warranty period and they are asking me 1000 USD to repair it. It is obvious ASUS products are designed to broke just after warranty period! I do no trust this brand anymore.. it used to be reliable... better a Toshiba or Sony laptop these days!
